Mini Album

Hi,

I thought I'd share a video with you today. It's a video of the mini album I made for Jill. I hope she likes it. I had a lot of fun making it. I can't wait to see the one she made for me. We were part of a mini album swap over at Life on the Scrap Beach called "Trade Wind Scrappers (aka TWS)". Thanks Jill for giving me the push over the edge to join. :)

Now on to the video:

Where Have I Been?

Well, here there and everywhere..
-Let's start off with a few updates. I'm a grandma.... yes you heard me.. grandma at 27. OIY! My husbands oldest daughter blessed us with a baby girl. She's adorable. I haven't gotten to meet her yet, but love her just the same.
-I went camping in May and got to see some friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Those girls have gotten so big! Kelly (my BFF) had her baby boy in July. (Congrats again), and one of my co-workers wife had his son on Aug. 1st. So I've been on baby mode for awhile.
-I went to a scrapbooking expo a few weeks ago with my mom and sister. We ended up getting the Cricut. Let me tell you... WHY did I wait so LONG?! Love that thing. We're going to a new scrapbook store next weekend, I can't wait for that.
-So here are some pics for you. I made the center piece for Brandon's baby shower. It's a diaper cake, and it was really easy to make, and I would love to make a few more. I'm also including pics of the wrapping paper I was asked to stamp.. as well as the card I made for them. I ended up making them thank you cards too, but those got out before I got a picture. (darnit!) I'm also in the middle of making him a baby word book.

I just signed up to do a mini album swap with the girls at http://thescrapbeach.ning.com/ and I'm excited, but scared to death. Will have to post pics after she gets it.

Kelly, this one's for you!

So tonight I was talking with my BFF Kelly. She basically called me out about my posting. (Thanks a lot Kel! :)). Anyway I told her about this gorgeous scrapbook page I made of my hubby Terry and one of the kids I used to babysit. This is probably one of my most favorite scrapbook pages I've ever created. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Well...........not exactly how I imagined it

Good Evening!

Today's card looks nothing like the one I had in my head. Don'tcha hate it when that happens. I had the bird and the flowers all colored and ready to attach to my card when I realized there was a huge ink smudge, so I had to distress the whole thing. I think it looks kinda silly, but eh its a card. The inside is blank. I'm thinking this may be a happy card, something to cheer someone up. Let me know what you think.

You asked! I answer...

So how about a card? This is one I made a long time ago after I found out a co-worker lost her father-in-law. It's not the greatest picture in the world because I took it at midnight.....
Check out these cool new blogs I found :0 Don'tcha just love the internet?

I am attending the online crop at Scrapyland this weekend, so hopefully I'll have something new to share, but I always say that right?

I will post cards soon. I am waiting on a supply order from 3 companies before I can start making cards again.. They are expected to arrive this week. Stay tuned!

Video Troubles

Hey All,

I was just wondering, when you watch my videos does Veoh actually play a card video? The reason I ask, I went to watch one of the videos the other day, and it played an episode called "Prom Queen" Totally not my video!!!!

If you wouldn't mind, please click on the video and see if it gives you card tutorials. If so, please comment and let me know. If it doesn't, I will need to find another video source. Thanks

More cards to come soon!

A Video!

YAY!! I finally did another video. It's nothing fancy, just wanted to try a few things. This video is the beginning of a series that I'm going to call Tuey Tuesday. (There is a story... keep reading to find out what it is :))

I am my own worst critic I know, but this is not the greatest video. I am using my camera on the video mode.... but it will have to do for now. Also Jasmine (my mini dachshund) walks in about half way thru and takes a peek at ya and then moves on... She is ALWAYS in my stamp room with me. She likes to help (or at least *think* she is helping)

So if you've stayed with me this long, how 'bout we get to the video shall we?

Ok so just how did Tuey Tuesday come about? At work there are 2 Shelly's. Shelley was there before me. When I started everyone at work called me "Shelly 2." One day one of the guys called me "Tuey" and the name stuck with me ever since. I've grown quite fond of it actually and rarely answer to my real name at work. LOL. Tuey Tuesday started last year when my birthday fell on a Tuesday while I was at work. They all called it "Tuey's Tuesday". Long story short, it stuck. I thought it would be fun to do videos on Tuesdays and call them Tuey Tuesday. Hope you enjoy.

Ps. I said at the end of the video that I was going to show you how I made the card at the end, and it sounded like I was going to show you during this video. I apologize... it is going to be on the next edition of Tuey Tuesday.

It's time for an update

Hi Everyone!

Hope you had safe holidays. It's the beginning of the New Year and with a new year comes new changes. I am planning on blogging again very soon. My computer is still crashed, but I'm hoping that if I get a tax refund this year I'll be able to get a new one. I am slowly getting back into my stamp room. I actually created 2 cards this week. While I've been away I've been finding some awesome deals at Hobby Lobby (HL) and our Local Stamp Store (LSS).

First off, I just bought the Quickutz (QK) Revolution die-cutting machine. I absolutely love it and am wondering why I waited so long to get one. I still want to get the Big Shot from Sizzix, but this will do for now. I bought the QK nesting dies and love them. I call them my "practice" dies until I can afford to get some nesties. They have some awesome stuff! Check out their website at www.quickutz.com.

Secondly I've been stalking SCS for tutorials, ideas, and new blogs to look at. I learned how to make a mini magazine holder, a pop up card, and a couple other things I can't wait to show you.

Speaking of showing you things... I am still planning on doing weekly video tutorials. (*crossing fingers and hoping for a refund*)

Thirdly, I reorganized my stamp room. I'm hoping that by reorganizing it, I will start using what I have instead of buying new stuff. (We'll see... )

Hope this new year brings you lots of good things. Until next time!

Shelly
